An introductory APR period is a specific period of time during which no interest is charged on whichever transactions are included. Common transactions to enjoy an intro APR period are purchases, balance transfers and cash advances. Intro rates will differ in lengths categories as short-term, mid-term, and long-term. As debit cards do not charge interest rates, it is quite rare to see such cards having an intro period except where they apply towards monthly maintenance or annual fees and other periodic card charges.
