The Green Dot Gold Prepaid Card is a prepaid card that gives cardholders the opportunity to control the amount of money that is being spent. The card works as a debit card but
without the opportunity for cardholders to accrue any overcharge or interest fees like a credit card.
Cardholders can deposit funds onto the card and pay for purchases without ever having to worry about overspending or paying expensive overdraft fees. The card can be loaded by a Sales Agent near your location or you can follow the reload instructions that are provided when you receive your card at the store.
The card is ideal for those cardholders who want to keep track of the money that they spend or have a card to keep around when emergencies arise. With a low monthly fee that can easily be waived through frequent use of the card each month, cardholders can enjoy the opportunity to use this prepaid card as a debit card to make any and all purchases each month.
The application for this card is quick and easy. You can apply online by providing key contact information to verify you are a United States citizen and other information to ensure that the card is being applied for by you and not by somewhere else. United States citizens must be 18 years of age in order to be eligible for this card; however, an additional card is available for $4.95.
The prepaid card is free to apply for and receive by applying online. The activation fee of $4.95 will be waived, but other fees for the card will apply. The card is temporary and a small fee of $5.95 is charged monthly to keep your account active. This monthly fee can be avoided or waived if you load at least $1,000 on your card or you make a minimum of 30 purchases using your prepaid card each month.
Cardholders also receive free ATM transactions at a variety of locations nationwide. Any ATM withdrawals made at an non-participating ATM is subject to a small $2.50 fee and is subject to in addition to any fee the institution of the ATM may apply.
This is a temporary prepaid card and is valid up to one year after the activation date. Any transactions or purchases after the expiration of the card may not be valid or processed. Cardholders will not be able to load any more money onto the card once the card has expired.
