Urban Trust Bank is a privately owned bank with controlling interest of its founder and chairman Robert L. Johnson. Mr. Robert Johnson was the founder of RLJ Companies, a parent company of Urban Trust bank, Charlotte Bobcats and Black Entertainment Television (BET). Urban Trust Bank has 15 offices scattered all round Florida and Washington, DC. It announced a partnership agreement with Wal-Mart in 2007 through which banking products and services would be provided to customers from select Wal-Mart stores. Prior to its present status, Urban Trust Bank was known as Metro Bank. Metro Bank was incorporated in 1963 to provide local banking products and service to Orlando and its environs. After operating for nineteen years, Metro Bank received license to operate nation-wide after which it became Metro Savings Bank F.S.B. By August 2006, Metro Bank was bought over by Richard L.
