Chase To Install 800 New ATMs

If you are a Chase bank customer and are finding it difficult to find an ATM, then you will be happy to hear that the bank have announced the installation of approximately 800 new ATM locations in ampm gas stations across 5 states.

The new ATMs will be located in gas stations all over Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Around 75% of the new ATMs are to be in California which will increase the total number of Chase ATMs in the state to around 4,000 making it easier than ever to access your cash on the go.

Chase, also known as JP Morgan Chase are one of the largest consumer and commercial banks in the United States. They are also a global financial services provider with operations in more than 60 countries. Chase have 880 bank branches in California alone employing over 20,000 Californians.

In a recent press release regarding the new ATM machines, Chase’s chief of ATM expansion Jim Sutton said,

We are making banking even more convenient for millions of Chase customers, especially in California. Many of our customers already take advantage of ampm’s extensive network, and soon they will be able to use Chase ATMs there with no fee. Select locations will also allow Chase customers to make deposits at the ATM.

The new ATMs have already been appearing since November 2011 and it is hoped that all 800 will be installed and in operation by the end of March 2012. It is predicted that not only will the new ATMs make things more convenient fro Chase banking customers, but the easier access to cash without fees is also expected to help the ampm chain to sell more gasoline and snacks since the cash is more readily available to do so. President of ampm, Bill Fry said,

Chase’s ATMs are an exciting addition to our convenience store offering, and will help us grow our customer base. We expect this to help generate additional fuel purchases and strengthening the ampm brand.

The ampm brand was originally founded in Southern California in the late 1970’s. The convenience store chains have been honored by both the Entrepreneur’s ‘Franchise 500’ and Franchise Times ‘Top 200’. The ampm chain currently have stores which as ARCO-branded in California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington and Oregon.

There are also BP-branded ampm stores across several states in several cities including Chicago, Cincinnati and Atlanta. There are also over 1200 stores in Japan and Brazil!
