Iberia Bank Visa Classic is a basic credit card for those consumers who do not plan on taking advantage of a rewards program. An introductory period, no annual membership fee, and the long grace period are amongst the few benefits for card members to avail of.
Card applicants are encouraged to have good or excellent credit before applying. Better qualifying candidates are more likely to have their applications succeed. Credit limit and APR is also awarded based on credit worthiness.
Balance transfers incur no interest throughout a mid term introductory APR period. Balance transfer transactions carried out within 3 months of card membership are automatically included in the intro period. To further encourage balance transfers during and after the intro period, Iberia Bank charges no balance transfer fee.
Purchase APR is charged right from a first purchase. Exact purchase APR is based on the prime rate and may vary per card according to credit worthiness of the card member. Cash advance transactions incur a 3% transactions fee. A maximum fee ensures card members are not charged above a certain limit. Cash advance APR is one of the lowest out there.
Card members have throughout a grace period lasting 25 days to pay up after which a late payment fee is incurred. Card members are not billed an annual fee. Card transactions made in currency asides the U.S. dollar incur a 2% foreign transaction fee. Card members incur $29 as insufficient check fee.
Unfortunately, card members are not included in a rewards, rebate, or cash back program.
IberiaBank Visa Classic is yet another credit card designed for those consumers who aren't really interested in all those benefits accompanying platinum cards - most of those features go unused anyway. Iberia Bank charges low purchase interest and no interest on balance transfers throughout its mid term intro APR period as compensation for lack of card features and steam line features.
Online applicants should download and read applicable terms and conditions before applying for this credit card. Good payment history qualifies card members to apply for the Iberia Bank Visa Platinum, or Iberia Bank Visa Gold which offer low interest, a rewards program, and more robust card benefits.
