The Skypass Visa Signature credit card gives cardholders the purchasing power that they need and a number of exclusive benefits. This is one of the more involved cards issued by U.S. Bank, giving cardholders the ability to make purchases without staying under a preset credit limit. In the meantime, cardholders earn SKYPASS miles for every purchase made.
The exclusive benefits that are offered include bonus SKYPASS miles with the first purchase made with the card. When the card is renewed, there are more bonus miles to be awarded to the card. If you purchase tickets through Korean Air, then you receive double miles and you also receive two Korean Air VIP Lounge coupons every year.
When you gather your miles, you can redeem them toward travel and Korean Air upgrades, as well as upgrades through SkyTeam partners. Purchases made with the card also help cardholders reach Morning Calm Club membership and maintain it. There is no limit on the number of miles that can be earned. If you want to maximize your rewards, you can combine your SKYPASS Visa miles with SKYPASS flight miles.
Because this is a card that is made for the frequent traveler, those traveling abroad do not have to worry about foreign transaction fees. With the fact there is no present spending limit, there is a lot of spending power when traveling. Cardholders also have access to the Visa Signature Concierge and can take advantage of a wide range of premium offers and special dining privileges.
There are some additional advantages, such as EMV chip technology that gives you the added security needed when traveling abroad. PayWave technology is also used so that purchases don't have to require the card being handed to someone else and swiped. The Zero Fraud Liability strengthens the security element of the card. What this means is that cardholders do not have to be liable for fraudulent activity on the account. Through the fraud protection, U.S. Bank puts safeguards in place that prevent fraudulent activity on the account.
When traveling, you receive travel & emergency assistance, an auto rental collision damage waiver, and travel accident insurance. To make sure bills are managed well, cardholders receive online access to their account and they can automatically pay their bills.
U.S. Bank does reserve the right to change the APR, fees, and other terms as per the terms in the cardmember agreement and as the law applies.
There is an annual fee on the card. The bonus miles may be applied either when this fee is paid or the card is used for a purchase. It can take six to eight weeks for these bonus miles to be credited to the account. When it is time for the renewal bonus miles to be applied, they are applied after the annual fee is paid and can take eight weeks to be applied to the account.
As for how miles are earned, a cardholder is awarded two miles for every $1 charged to the card on qualified Korean Air ticket purchases and $1 for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
As for the travel benefits, such as accident insurance, you, your spouse, and traveling dependent children will be covered. This insurance covers loss of life, speech, sight, limbs, or hearing when being transported by a common carrier.
As for the cost of the card, the APR is very competitive. It is based on creditworthiness and the Prime Rate. To avoid paying interest on purchases, the due date is 24 to 30 days after the billing cycle's close date. If the balance is paid by the due date, then there is no charge for those purchases.
There is also an APR for balance transfers, along with a balance transfer fee and a cash advance APR that accompanies the cash advance fee. How the transaction fees work on the account is this: the fee is a percentage of the transaction or a minimum dollar amount.
Other transaction fees include convenience Check Cash Advance, ATM transaction fees, cash equivalent advances, and there is no fee for foreign transactions. There are also penalty fees that include a late payment and a returned payment fee. There is no over the limit fee since the account can't go over its limit.
