Get Special Perks With The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard
The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard is an easy-to-understand credit card that can be used anywhere in the world, but it is designed to save you money on your travels with Hawaiian Airlines so you can travel more and pay less.
The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard is a travel rewards credit card for those who like to travel to and from Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines. It is through the use of the card that you are able to earn the miles needed to discount your travel. You can earn up to double the miles on direct purchases from Hawaiian Airlines and one times the miles on all other purchases. What's more is that there are no mileage caps, so you can use your card as much as you like on purchases so you can earn as many miles as possible.
In fact, you can earn extra HawaiianMiles per every dollar spent when you use your card at select HawaiianMiles partners. If you split the transaction with cash or a check, you will only receive extra points for the amount that was charged on the card. Any time miles are to be credited to the account, it can take 4 to 6 weeks for the miles to appear.
There are also no blackout dates and you can obtain access to discounted award flights. Something that is unique, however, is the ShareMiles. This is a part of HawaiianMiles that is quite useful in some situations. For instance, you can receive Hawaiianmils from friends and family just by going to HawaiianAirlines.com. In order to benefit from this, you have to have a current email address registered with your online account so that miles can be transferred. The recipient can receive miles transfers up to 10 times per calendar year. However, the transferor may transfer miles to friends and family as many times as they like.
If you opt to do a transfer to a friend or family member, there are no transaction fees and there is no minimum or maximum number of miles that can be transferred.
There are different advantages to the card. For instance, there are the bonus miles that are received when the first $1,000 is spent on the card within the first 90 days. You also receive a complimentary first checked bag for the primary cardholder when the card is used to purchase the tickets directly from Hawaiian Airlines. If you want to travel with a friend, you can even receive a one-time 50 percent off companion discount when booking roundtrip travel in coach between Hawaii and North America. All you have to do is buy your tickets with your Hawaiian Airlines MasterCard.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
A unique aspect to this credit card is that there are no foreign transaction fees when you use it to make purchases. This means that you can travel outside of the United States and not have to worry about additional fees. In other words, you can use the card as freely in Mexico as you could in California at locations that accept MasterCard.
Cardholders are also able to enjoy annual bonuses. The first bonus is the ability to receive 4100 off of a roundtrip companion ticket between Hawaii and North America on the account's anniversary each year.
The second annual bonus occurs when you spend $10,000 on the card in a year. If you do, you receive 5,000 bonus miles.
A Card With Extras
The card is a chip card, which means it is accepted all over the world. There are many countries that rely on chip technology within credit cards. Canada is one of those, which allows the card to be used within the chip system. It is a much more secure system than the traditional system. If you do use the card anywhere else in the world other than the U.S., there are no foreign transaction fees. Foreign transaction fees can usually add up rather quickly when a credit card is used frequently internationally. In this case, that is not an issue.
The next extra is that cardholders can earn up to 10 times the miles at selected partners. The list of partners is always subject to change, so it is important to check the list so that you are always able to participate in point earning opportunities.
The last set of extras includes 24/7 concierge service, travel assistance services, lost luggage reimbursement, car rental protection, VIP events, and exclusive experiences. The extras are always subject to change, so be sure to use your online account management to always know what is happening with your card and what the special perks are.
The card cost is rather simple. There is an annual fee that is small compared to the savings that will be received. Aside from that, the only recurring cost is the APR. However, you can avoid the APR on purchases if you pay off your balance in full before the due date. The balance transfer and cash advance APR and associated fees will still apply, if applicable, but you can save money by avoiding the APR. If you make a late payment, a penalty APR will be allied. This is in addition to the late fee. If a payment is returned, then a returned payment fee will be assessed to the account.
If the account is not in good standing, further activity may not be allowed and miles that have been earned during the current billing cycle may be forfeited. Keeping the account in good standing ensures that there are no additional fees, no penalty APR, and all miles and other benefits are retained.
When looking for a credit card that will save you on your travels to and from Hawaii, the Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard is one of those cards. For a low annual fee, reasonable rates, and lots of perks, there is a lot to gain and nothing to lose.
